Flip The Script On AI: A Christian Perspective

Flip The Script On AI: A Christian Perspective

Ever heard the saying, “How you do one thing is how you do everything”? Let me flip that for you: how you see one thing is how you see everything. This isn’t to ignore the complexity of our world but to remind us that our perspective—the foundation of how we see life—shapes everything.

On January 24th, 2025, we celebrated the International Day of Education (IDE) 2025, themed “AI and Education: Preserving Human Agency in an Age of Automation.” Leading up to the event, I remember buzzing with a lot of excitement about all that God is doing in the field of AI and about the IDE theme. I also found myself reflecting deeply on AI through the lens of my faith in Christ. How should a believer rightly see and engage with AI? I even had a conversation with fellow youth leaders about it. Check out that conversation here.

The day after IDE 2025, I attended a virtual symposium hosted by the American Scientific Affiliation on “AI and Christianity,” featuring two incredibly amazing women working in the field of AI – Joanna Ng and Rosalind Picard. Joanna Ng, a believer and serial innovator, made a profound statement:

“View AI from a lens of revelation of your identity in Christ, then engage it from your authority as a King and a Priest. Choose faith over fear.”

Ng, a serial innovator and inventor, takes this approach seriously. She has co-created 50 patents—not just through human ingenuity, but through partnership with God. "Co-create with God," she says. That’s how true innovation happens. Because at its core, love is the foundation of good invention.

Her perspective shifts everything. It forces us to rethink how we, as Christians, talk about AI. Are we focused on the right things? Or are we caught up in distractions? This shifted my perspective. Instead of debating whether AI is good or bad, we are called to go higher—to think of AI in light of Christ’s redemptive purpose.

Scripture is clear:

"Let their fear not be your fear, and let their dread not be your dread. But sanctify the Lord God in your heart, and Him alone shall you fear."

This verse is a game-changer. It tells us to stop carrying the world’s burdens and instead, focus on God’s truth. The enemy thrives on distractions and loves to magnify issues, making them seem all-encompassing, so we lose sight of what actually matters.

But believers are called to focus on Christ. That means looking at AI not from an earthly perspective, but from a heaven-downward view. Instead of worrying about how AI is being misused, imagine what happens when believers step in to use it for God’s redemptive purposes. If we view AI as a tool rather than a threat, we free ourselves to co-create with God, bringing light into the world.

I don’t feel threatened by AI at all, even though it’s a pressing global issue. Why? Because I see it as a tool—not a master. Like every other innovation, AI has the potential to either reflect God’s glory or amplify humanity’s brokenness. It can move the needle forward in helping us – the end time generation – accomplish God’s purposes for our lives. It all depends on who is steering the ship.

AI can accelerate God’s redemptive purpose in the world. It can improve education, bridge healthcare gaps, foster innovation, and even spread the Gospel. But the key is perspective. It’s about right believing.

God’s Wisdom on Perspective

Jeremiah 17:6-8 reveals a powerful truth:

  • The blessed person “does not see the heat when it comes” (Jeremiah 17:8). They are rooted in God, drawing strength from Him regardless of challenges.
  • The cursed person “does not see the good when it comes” (Jeremiah 17:6). Their perspective blinds them to God’s provision.

AI isn’t the heat or the good—it’s neutral. Our faith in Christ determines whether we see AI as a threat or as an opportunity to glorify God.

Faith, Focus, and the Future

We live in an extraordinary time. I've been feeling very thrilled and in awe of what the Lord is doing in our time. I think that we're the most blessed and privileged generation to live and I'm always delighted to see all the ways that God is on the move in our time.

Yes, evil is increasing, and the chaos in the world is loud and dramatic. But here’s the truth: God’s grace is greater. His work in our lives may seem quieter, but it’s infinitely more powerful.

Jeremiah 33:9 beautifully captures this: “And this city shall be to me a name of joy, a praise, and a glory before all the nations of the earth who shall hear of all the good that I do for them. They shall fear and tremble because of all the good and all the prosperity I provide for it.”

This is our promise: God is doing good, even in a chaotic world. The enemy’s work may seem louder, but God’s quiet, powerful work always prevails.

As a generation, we have a choice:

  • We can focus on the noise and fear AI brings.
  • Or we can focus on Christ and the incredible ways God is using this moment to bring light, life, and peace to the world.

The rule of life is simple: what you focus on grows. If we focus on fear, it will consume us. But if we focus on Christ—through His Word, through fellowship, and by filtering what we see and hear—our faith will flourish.

AI and Education: A Call to Stewardship

It's been a month now since we celebrated this year’s IDE . The IDE 2025 theme challenged us to think about AI’s role in education and preserving human agency in automation. For young people today, this isn’t about fearing that AI will replace us—it’s about reclaiming our God-given identity as creators, innovators, and stewards of His world. God made us in His image, with the ability to reason, dream, and co-create. AI, no matter how advanced, can never replace what makes us human: our souls, our ability to love, and our divine purpose.

Instead of fearing AI, let’s ask:

  • How can AI help us reflect God’s glory?
  • How can we use AI to serve others and bring hope to the broken?
  • How can AI enhance education to equip young people to live out their God-given callings?

Choosing Christ in the Age of AI

We’re the most connected, creative, and capable generation in history. But the key isn’t in the tools we have—it’s in the foundation we build our lives on.

Let’s choose to see AI as an opportunity to partner with God in His redemptive work. Let’s focus on Christ, protect our faith, and lean into His Word to guide us. Let’s speak boldly about what God is doing and filter the noise of the world through the truth of His promises.

Because at the end of the day, AI doesn’t define us. Christ does. Focus on Christ, preserve your faith, and steward this moment for His glory. God is moving. Let’s move with Him.

Not yet in the fam?

God is a good Father who loves you so much and wants you to be part of His family as His child. He offered His only Son, Jesus Christ, to pursue your heart and save you and bring you into the family. All you need to do is to receive His love and you can live in it and enjoy it for the rest of your life. Will you receive it? Then please say this prayer:

Father in Heaven, I thank you for loving me. Thank you for sending the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, to save me from my sins and give me eternal life. I believe in my heart that Jesus died for my sins, He was buried and on the third day, He rose again, to make me right with you. I declare that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour. I thank you that I am now saved and I'm a member of your family. I ask that You fill me with the Holy Spirit and help me to know You more. In Jesus' name, amen.

Welcome!

If you said this prayer for the first time, you're now a child of God and I am excited that you are my sibling in Christ. Welcome!!! 🥳There's a whole party going on in Heaven right now, on your behalf, like the excitement over a newborn baby. Will you please reach out to me and let me bless you with a resource that will help you get started on your journey of faith? Click here to do so. I love you and can't wait to meet you.

Flip The Script On Education: A Reflection In Celebration of the International Day of Education 2025

Image from Freepik Happy International Day of Education!  On today's episode of Flip The Script, we're flipping the script on education, in honour of the International Day of Education and we're doing that by shattering the myth that education only happens in schools and classrooms. I believe in holistic, out-of-school and transformative education that changes us and empowers us to change the world and I believe this is God’s heart for education. Education doesn't only happen in schools and classrooms but in all of daily life, and we should never confine or limit education to that.  My case study today is one of the most inspiring young people I’ve ever learned about: 19-year-old Gitanjali Rao who’s a science enthusiast and an inventor and already invented her first science-b...

What’s Eating You?

Photo source: Stockcake What Are You Eating? What's Eating You? A slow meditation for those who want to be nourished, not just inspired. Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about food —but not just the kind that fills your stomach, but the kind that fills your soul. My dad used to say something I’ll never forget: “You can use good food to cure sicknesses.” It was wisdom passed down—his parents believed it. My mom and her parents too. They all knew the power of nourishment. They believe that if you eat well, your body naturally gets to heal, strengthen, and thrive. They knew this well and they lived by it. And it got me thinking: But what if the same is true for your soul? What if some of the fear, shame, anxiety, or spiritual fatigue you're feeling aren’t just about sin or stress or burnout—but about what we’ve been feeding or not feeding on ? Or what we’ve been starving from ? Or worse… what’s been poisoning us ? I’m learning that you can tell a lot about your spir...

Even Jesus Cooked Too: Meals Are Spiritual Spaces Where Jesus Meets Us

Photo source: ChatGPT Craving a Favorite Meal There’s something deeply satisfying about watching your favorite meal being made. The anticipation builds as you imagine the aroma, the texture, the first bite. I’ve found myself craving a favorite dish so intensely that I traveled a distance just to enjoy it. But that craving—that hunger—is more than just physical. It’s a mirror of something spiritual, something eternal. I think about how Jesus, my Lord and Savior, also cooked. That’s still such a beautiful, humbling thought to me. Even Jesus Cooked Too Did you know that Jesus made breakfast for His disciples after His resurrection? John 21 tells us that when the disciples had gone back to fishing, Jesus stood on the shore. H...
