An Orange Moment: I Squeezed An Orange Today And It Made Me Cry

Early on Monday morning, I spent some time to extensively reflect on the blessing of food as it points us to Christ and God’s redemptive purpose for us demonstrated by the Cross. Today, my orange reminded me of this again. I wanted to remember Jesus through partaking of the Holy Communion. I already had my crackers that I was going to use as the Body. I wanted to use orange juice as the Blood. I had an orange that I got yesterday and I just need to squeeze the juice into my cup. As I squeezed the orange, I thought about how doing that was a picture of the Body of Jesus Christ that squeezed for his blood to pour out for me. It was also a picture of how grapes are squeezed to produce their juices. The sense of God’s love just washed over me as I thought about this and I fell to the ground and cried, in gratitude. I recently listened to a sermon by Pastor Joseph Prince about the firstborn blessing of Jacob. Isaac blessed Jacob that he would enjoy the dew of heaven and the fatn...

What about rough days? Flipping the Script on Rough Days: Elijah’s Story and Ours

Flipping the Script on Rough Days: Elijah’s Story and Ours What’s in a day? One day can be amazing, filled with excitement, joy, and success. The very next day? It might feel like you’ve hit rock bottom. That rollercoaster of highs and lows is a vivid expression of life as we know it. Picture this: you leave home in the morning feeling like you’re ready to conquer the world, but by evening, you’re dragging your feet, wondering where all your energy went. Some days are just rough . And when they are, we want them to end as quickly as possible. We all have days when things just feel overwhelming—whether it’s dealing with school pressure, juggling work, or the stress of keeping up online. It’s easy to get caught in a cycle of comparison, seeing others’ highlight reels on social media and wondering why we don’t measure up. But even on those rough days when everything seems upside down, remember this: God sees you. He loves you. And He’s with you in every moment, caring about your...

Flip The Script On Education: A Reflection In Celebration of the International Day of Education 2025

Image from Freepik Happy International Day of Education!  On today's episode of Flip The Script, we're flipping the script on education, in honour of the International Day of Education and we're doing that by shattering the myth that education only happens in schools and classrooms. I believe in holistic, out-of-school and transformative education that changes us and empowers us to change the world and I believe this is God’s heart for education. Education doesn't only happen in schools and classrooms but in all of daily life, and we should never confine or limit education to that.  My case study today is one of the most inspiring young people I’ve ever learned about: 19-year-old Gitanjali Rao who’s a science enthusiast and an inventor and already invented her first science-b...

What’s In a Day? Discovering God’s Wonder in the Everyday

Let’s talk about your day. You wake up, probably scroll through your phone for a bit, get out of bed, take a shower, and throw on some clothes. Breakfast? Maybe. Then you head out—school, work, errands—your day starts rolling. You cross paths with people: the fruit vendor on the corner, the guy delivering packages, the bus driver, your classmates or coworkers. After a long day, you head back home, exhausted, eat, unwind, and finally crash into bed. Sounds pretty ordinary, right? But here’s the thing: your ordinary day is packed with evidence of God’s love and His grace, all because of what Jesus has done for you. The Wonder in the Mundane We often think purpose is found in the “big” moments—getting that degree, nailing that project, or doing something that feels important. But what about the rhythms of daily life—the small things we take for granted, like brushing our teeth, walking to class, or grabbing coffee with a friend? Here’s the truth: Jesus didn’t die just to r...

K-Drama Lovely Runner Review: Missed Moments and Wasted Rays

Have you ever paused to think about the sun? The way it rises faithfully every day, spreading light, warmth, and life. Yet, we…rarely stop to notice. We rush through our routines, distracted and preoccupied, barely acknowledging the faithful rays shining down on us. We forget to bask in its presence. What if we’re doing the same thing with God's love? The Faithful Sun and the Ever-Present Son I’ve been thinking about a scene from episode 5 of the 2024 Korean series, Lovely Runner , where Im Sol reflects on how her relationship with Sun Jae had evolved. I can’t help but think about how much of a vivid mirror of our relationship with God it is. We live our lives as we miss out on many things. To me, Sun Jae was like a star in the sky, unreachable and a universe away; at the edge of my teens, filled with memories I'd rather not recall. Sun Jae had been there all along, just a reach away. He breathed the same air as me everyday, gazed at the same sky, walked the same path, ...
